In addition to the competitions held to mark the ‘Jnanabheri’ programme, students from across the district were enthralled by the stalls organised by the universities and colleges, highlighting their respective achievements alongside the innovations being carried out at their institutions.

Rrom the provisions in the government schemes to innovative experiments/projects undertaken by the students and emerging startups were on display during the programme.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, before arriving at the programme, visited a few stalls and enquired about some of the concepts.

During an interaction with the students, Mr. Naidu, impressed by the presentation on ‘Village Adoption – Transfer of Technology for Sustainable Agriculture’ by the students of S.V. Agricultural College, urged S.V. University Vice-Chancellor A. Damodaram to evolve/design an outreach programme on these lines with coordination from several departments.

He also lauded the efforts of S.V. Veterinary University students for their entrepreneurship development programme.

During the event, an AISF activist tried to cross the barricade to give a representation to Mr. Naidu, but the police officials immediately took him into custody along with others who chose to raise slogans at the venue.

Colony inaugurated

Later, Mr. Naidu inaugurated a housing colony, comprising 1,464 units built at a cost of ₹44.80 crore by the MCT in the Damineedu area on the outskirts, and distributed house pattas to the beneficiaries.

Interacting with the beneficiaries, he named the colony as ‘Narayanadri’, continuing the tradition of naming colonies after the Seven Hills of Tirumala.
