Taking objection to TDP Rajya Sabha member T.G. Venkatesh hinting at an electoral understanding between the TDP and the JSP, CPI(M) State secretary P. Madhu has made it clear that the two Left parties and the JSP will contest all the 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the State.

Addressing a joint rally of the CPI, the CPI(M) and the JSP at the Addanki bus stand centre here on Thursday, Mr. Madhu said fearing desertions, the TDP was carrying out a false propaganda in an desperate attempt to keep its flock together.

Joint declaration

“None can drive a wedge between JSP president Pawan Kalyan and us,” he said, adding the JSP and the Left parties would come out with a joint declaration on the policies and programmes to project an alternative to the “corrupt” TDP, which failed on all the fronts, and the YSRCP, which miserably failed to function as a responsible opposition party by keeping away from the Assembly proceedings.

After sharing power with the BJP both at the Centre and in the State for over four years, the TDP snapped its ties with it at the fag-end of the term sensing the mood of the people, who were upset over denial of SCS to Andhra Pradesh. There was no guarantee that the TDP would not support the BJP in post-poll situation, he said.

Former CPI MLC P.J. Chandrasekar underscored the need for an alternative to the ruling TDP and the Opposition YSRCP in the State, to put an end to “money and muscle power” in politics. JSP leader Chandrasekara Yadav spoke.
