Jana Sena Party political adviser and former Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu P. Rammohana Rao and Political Advisory Committee convener Madasu Gangadharam on Sunday said the party would contest the local body elections and utilise the opportunity to strengthen the party base in the State and gear up the cadre for the 2024 elections.

Party senior leaders organised a series of meetings both in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam to elicit the views of contesting candidates.

Addressing the media after review meetings in Vizianagaram, Mr. Gangadharam said that JSP founder Pawan Kalyan set a new trend in politics by allotting the party ticket to common people to prove that the party was encouraging socially and economically backward sections.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s political secretary P. Hari Prasad lauded Vizianagaram MP candidate Mukka Srinivasa Rao and Vizianagaram MLA candidate Palavalasa Yashaswi for taking on Telugu Desam and YSRCP which were under the control of a few families.

‘People fed up’

“JSP will contest panchayat and Zilla Parishad elections. The party will prove its strength in local body elections too as people are fed up with the existing parties,” he added.

Earlier, Srikakulam MP candidate and former IRS officer Metta Rama Rao and Srikakulam MLA candidate Korada Sarveswara Rao said that the real development of backward Srikakulam would be possible only with the relentless fight of Jana Sena Party. They said that the party had already geared up for the ensuing Srikakulam municipal corporation elections.

Party senior leaders T. Siva Sankar, Bolisetti Satya, Y. Nagesh and others were present. They said that interaction with contesting candidates would continue in remaining districts in a phased manner. Mr. Pawan Kalyan would also tour the districts to provide much needed impetus to the party leaders and cadre in the State.
