Jagan wants Centre to probe cash-for-vote case

June 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A delegation of YSR Congress Party led by its president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Thursday and requested him to intervene in the issue of cash-for-vote scandal in Telangana and order for a probe into the case by a Central agency to bring the actual culprits to book.

Accompanied by party MPs Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Y.V. Subba Reddy, P.V. Mithun Reddy and Y.S. Avinash Reddy, the YSRC president submitted a memorandum to the Union Home Minister requesting him to direct the officials concerned to carry out investigation in full flow to bring the culprits to book as the list of suspects also includes AP Chief Minister and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu. An inquiry by a Central agency into the corruption case involving the powers that be in AP would help find out the actual culprits, Mr. Reddy felt. He alleged that Mr. Naidu was exposed red-handed while following unethical practices to woo MLAs to vote for a TDP candidate in the recent elections to Legislative Council in Telangana. A TDP legislator was caught red-handed while trying to bribe a nominated MLA, he stated.

Later, in a meeting with Union Finance Minster Arun Jaitley, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy appealed to him to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
