Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said that YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy is upset with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s initiative to unify the anti-BJP parties. Mr. Reddy is also feeling bad about the criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for obvious reasons and he appeared to be sure that the BJP’s defeat will result in his landing in jail, the Minister observed in a press release.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu stated that Mr. Reddy was continuing his Praja Sankalpam Padayatra in north coastal districts but had no time to console the victims of cyclone Titli. He was also oblivious to the plight of drought-hit farmers in Rayalaseema. Instead of showing concern for the problems faced by the people and doing his bit for finding a solution, Mr. Reddy enacted the attack drama to derive political mileage, he alleged.

‘Blow to MSMEs’

Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that 15 lakh jobs had been lost in the wake of demonetisation as per a report of the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy. Besides, demonetisation of the specified bank notes had dealt a severe to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and black-money accounted for 61% of the Gross Domestic Product.

But, Mr. Modi was tight-lipped as he had no explanation for what his government’s irrational policies did to the economy. Demonetisation was going to be a bitter pill for the BJP as farmers and other sections of society became restless due to its impact. A march to Delhi by thousands of farmers from across the country reflected their frustration with the Central government’s failure to end their woes, he claimed.
