Jagan declares assets worth ₹375 crore

YSRCP chief files nomination for Pulivendula seat

YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday put the value of his assets at ₹375 crore and that of his wife Bharati’s at ₹124 crore. The value of assets of their daughters was put at ₹6.5 crore and ₹4.6 crore respectively.

The total value of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s family thus stood at ₹510 crore.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, while filing his nomination papers for the Pulivendula Assembly constituency, submitted an affidavit giving details of the movable and immovable properties of his family, to the Returning Officer at Pulivendula.

Profession

While Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s profession was mentioned as “politics and public service,” his wife’s profession was mentioned as “business.”

The affidavit showed the family’s “liabilities” and “liabilities under dispute” as ₹66.7 crore and ₹6.8 crore respectively.

In 2014, Mr. Reddy’s total movable assets were put at ₹313 crore. His wife’s movable assets were put at ₹57 crore. His immovable assets then were worth ₹30 crore. The value of his wife’s immovable assets were then declared as ₹14 crore.

Compared with the 2019 affidavit, Mr. Reddy’s family assets shot up by over ₹100 crore.

Sources of income

As per the affidavit, Mr. Reddy’s sources of income were salary as MLA, pension from his term as MP, rental income, bank interests, and agriculture. His cash in hand stood at ₹43,560 and that of Ms. Bharati’s at ₹49,390.

Mr. Reddy’s movable assets were put at ₹3,39,88,99,792.

The movable assets of his wife were put at ₹92,52,99,962. The movable assets of his two daughters, Harshini Reddy and Varsha Reddy, stood at ₹6,45,62,191 and ₹4,59,82,372 respectively.

The property included jewellery – 5.86 kg gold in the name of Ms. Bharati, 4.19 kg gold and 3.46 kg gold and diamond jewellery in the names of the daughters.

Mr. Reddy’s investments in the form of equity shares in unlisted companies and mutual funds stood at ₹317.45 crore and that of Bharati’s stood at ₹62.35 crore.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy stated in the affidavit that he did not own any vehicle, though four bulletproof cars – a BMW X5 and three SUVs – were registered in his name as per the stipulation of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The value of Mr. Reddy’s and his wife’s lands, both agriculture and non-agriculture, and commercial and residential buildings stood at ₹35.30 crore and ₹31.59 crore respectively.
