Former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has said the TDP will form the government in the State again.

The widely-expected result of the R.G.’s Flash Team survey came out on Sunday in Tirupati.

Mr. Rajagopal said the TDP would win by securing nearly 100 seats (+/-10). The YSRCP would bag 72 seats (+/- 7). Other parties, including the JSP, would secure three seats, he said.

Drop in vote share

“In spite of getting closer to power, the TDP will have to cope with decreased vote share of 43%,” he added.

For the Lok Sabha, Mr. Rajagopal put the TDP ahead with 15 seats (+/- 2), followed by the YSRCP with 10 (+/- two) and others 0-1.

He admitted that the contest was too close to be predicted correctly since the assurances made by the political parties, flow of funds and allurements, and hectic electioneering a couple of days ahead of the polls could have a telling impact.

In Telangana, he predicted that the TRS would bag 14-16 seats, Congress 0-2 seats, BJP 0-1 seats and MIM 1 seat.

‘No clarity’

Without giving a firm prediction as to who would form the next government at the Centre, Mr. Rajagopal said the NDA would be closer to getting the required majority.

Clarity remained elusive in the wake of the third front talk and even a fourth alternative in the form of a ‘National Front’, he said.
