Inspector selected for UN Peacekeeping Mission

Mamilla Sridhar Reddy, an Inspector with Telangana State Police, has been selected for the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission.

He was among the 173 personnel chosen from various State police forces and Central forces in India from as many as 360 personnel who appeared in the examination conducted by the United Nations between September 28 and October 5 in New Delhi. The Inspector, currently working with Kodad police station in Nalgonda district, will work in Haiti, Cyprus, Liberia and South Sudan for the next couple of years. Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Sridhar Reddy said that police personnel from Ghana, Zimbabwe, Indonesia and from other countries had conducted the examination.

Mr. Sridhar Reddy had cleared the State Police recruitment examination in 1998 to become a Sub-Inspector of Police.

On successful completion of training, he was appointed as Sub-Inspector of Police in Nalgonda in 2000.

In the next decade, the police officer discharged duties as an SI in various police stations across the district.

Later, he was transferred to the Intelligence Department in 2010. After a three-year stint with the Intelligence Department, he was promoted as Inspector and appointed at Kodad.

The Inspector, currently working with Kodad police station in Nalgonda district, will work in Haiti, Cyprus, Liberia and South Sudan for the next couple
