Kadapa Superintendent of Police Naveen Gulati on Saturday said that an ‘impartial’ investigation into the recent suicides by girl students at Narayana educational institutions, on the outskirts of Kadapa, was in progress under his direct supervision along with Kurnool DIG Ramana Kumar.

In a press release, Mr. Gulati said there would be no room for any apprehensions over the inquiry. DSP (Proddatur) Pujitha Neelam was handling the investigation under the supervision of senior officials. Kadapa DSP E.G. Ashok Kumar and DSP (SC/ST cell) L. Sudhakar were also part of the investigating team. “The case will be finalised based on the forensic report from the Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad. We are expecting the report in 10 days,” the SP said.

SP (CID) Ammireddy also visited Kadapa on Saturday and interacted with the parents of the students.
