Hospital told to maintain details of funds for sanitation

October 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - CHITTOOR:

District Collector Siddharth Jain on Friday made a whirlwind tour of Kuppam town and a dozen hamlets in Kuppam and Ramakuppam mandals, while taking part in the ‘Swachh Kuppam’ programme organised marking the Gandhi Jayanti.

During his inspection to the Government Area Hospital at Kuppam, the Collector asked officials to prepare a balance sheet for the funds (Rs 3 lakh per month) being spent on the sanitation works and suggested that more medical camps be organised in the rural areas for the elderly and women. Expressing his displeasure on the poor performance of the maternity ward pertaining to institutional deliveries, he asked the officials to initiate measures to deal with the anaemia woes in Kuppam mandal.

Later, the Collector garlanded a statue of Mahatma Gandhi and flagged off a rally which passed through the arterial junctions of Kuppam. He distributed scholarships to meritorious students during a quiz programme and launched CC roads and Deepam Pathakam scheme.

Later, Mr. Jain undertook a tour in an APSRTC bus from Chittoor to Kuppam.
