Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan on Sunday sought the help of youth to oust the TDP government and asked them not to tolerate corruption.

Addressing a massive public meeting as part of the Porata Yatra, he attributed the drought conditions in Rayalaseema to the inept policy decisions and implementation by the ruling dispensation in the past several decades.

Calling for a new order in politics, he said while Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was only bothered about how to become Chief Minister again, YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy did not speak for the people or highlight their problems in the Assembly. “Mr. Jagan only wants people to make him Chief Minister first and then he would think about people’s needs,” Mr. Pawan said.

Only a few families or communities had been ruling the State which must change, he said and asked the youth why Mr. Naidu could not provide jobs to them and water to the fields.

He took strong objection to the personal comments made by Mr. Jagan and Mr. Naidu and said he had not come into politics for personal gains.

Taking strong objection to the deep divide in society in the name of caste/creed and religion, he said his party would come to power and abolish these caste-based hostels and schools and introduce common school system.

Criticising Anantapur MP J.C. Diwakar Reddy and his brother Tadipatri MLA J.C. Prabhakar Reddy for their alleged high-handed behaviour with the people of the constituency, he asked the youth not to tolerate factionism and fearlessly oppose such forces by voting them out in the coming elections.

Criticising the TDP government for alleged rampant corruption in each Assembly constituency running into several hundred crores, he asked where the industries and jobs promised by them were. Just one KIA Motors factory would not provide jobs to everyone in the Rayalaseema, he said. Taking a serious view of the indiscriminate land acquisition all over the State, he said he had ensured they stopped a year ago but now it was starting again.

Earlier, he undertook a colourful rally from the Agriculture Marketyard to highlight the drought conditions in the district and thousands of fans followed his convoy for 2.7 k.m. in near stampede conditions in the narrow streets of the city.

CPI(M) State secretary P. Madhu and CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna spoke just for a couple minutes expressing their solidarity with the Jana Sena Party agitation.
