Acting swiftly on farmers’ complaints, the Prakasam administration on Saturday opened 12 counters to receive applications from the ryots who have been left out of the loan waiver scheme for various reasons.
Four counters each would function from now at the Agriculture office, Horticulture Office and the District Employment office, Collector Sujatha Sharma told the media here on Saturday. Each of the offices would be manned by 21 staffers each.
A help desk would also function in each of the three offices to respond to the queries from ryots on their eligibility and documents to be attached, she explained.
A bank staffer would also be present in the three offices to clarify the doubts of farmers between 7.3 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and again between 2.30 p.m. and 7.pm. till May 25.
As many as 13,952 applications have been received till date and sent to Hyderabad after scrutiny, Agriculture Joint Director J. Muralikrishna said.
Only 4.59 lakh of the 7.06 lakh farmers in the district with loan outstanding have got Rs. 566.68 crore as first instalment, Lead Bank District Manager M. Narasimha Rao told The Hindu .
