The heat wave continued its intensity across Telangana, claiming at least 42 persons on Friday and taking the toll beyond 75.
The mercury touched 47 degree Celsius at several places in the State, while Hyderabad recorded 43.6 degrees.
The Meteorological Department has forecast severe heat wave conditions at many places over the State on Saturday and Sunday too.
However, there could be some relief later as the weathermen predicted isolated rain or thundershowers at some places across Telangana on May 25 and 26.
According to the met officials, Temperatures of 47 degrees were recorded at Khammam, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Ramagundam, with many other places suffering heat ranging between 42 and 46 degrees. Reports from districts indicated that the death toll was rising as the heat wave continued unabated, though the temperatures were down by a shade compared to Thursday. At least nine deaths due to sunstroke were reported in Medak district on Friday. The district headquarters town of Sangareddy recorded 43 degrees.
