April 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A Division Bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyanjyothi Sen Gupta and Justice P.V.Sanjay Kumar on Monday confirmed the conviction and imposed punishment on B. Madhava Naidu, Telugu Desam MLA from Narsapuram in West Godavari district in a contempt case.

The Bench was acting on a report from Additional District Judge Narsapur to the effect  that the MLA threatened the judge in front of advocates for getting  evicted the hawkers from road margin. This eviction was done while implementing  the orders of a  court.

The bench initiated proceedings under Contempt of Court Act and issued notices. The MLA had filed affidavit expressing regret. The Bench found that there was no remorse for the behaviour of threatening the judicial officer who implemented the court order.
