Stating that YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had no future in politics, JSP president Pawan Kalyan on Thursday said people would not cast their vote for those who underwent imprisonment on charges of corruption in the 2019 elections.

Winding up his district tour by addressing a public meeting at Amalapuram, Mr. Pawan Kalyan lambasted the Opposition leader for “failing” to highlight the civic problems in the Assembly.

“Instead of using the Assembly as a means to highlight the civic problems, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has chosen to be away from it. How can we consider him as a responsible leader?” he asked.

Accusing Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of shifting his entire project towards the capital city, Amaravati, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said people were fed up with corruption and threats of the leaders of the ruling party.

“Mr. Naidu has utterly failed in controlling his party leaders. He is not in a position to take action against Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, who has become the care of address for controversies of late,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan alleged.

Stating that the JSP was aimed at protecting the self-respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh, he said that the party had the courage to fight with anyone to protect the interests of the State.

“I am ready to wage a battle with the Centre to get our share of funds and to protect our natural resources. I am here to ensure employment for the youth,” he said.

Referring to the explosion of gas pipeline at Nagaram, Mr. Pawan Kalyan expressed concern over those who had lost their lives and limbs in the accident. He wondered why the government failed to ensure recurrence of such accidents.

Earlier in the day, he interacted with the representatives of the weavers’ community and elicited information about their living conditions. He told them that he was keen on promoting handlooms and that was why he had been wearing cotton clothes woven by weavers.
