Govt. employees want Collector transferred

Employees accuse the IAS officer of taking unilateral decisions

October 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - KURNOOL:

At least 200 government employees belonging to several associations staged a demonstration against Collector Ch. Vijayamohan on the Collectorate premises on Monday, accusing the latter of speaking to them in a derogatory manner.

The employees belonging to A.P. NGOs Association, Revenue Services Association, Medical and Health Employees Association and others took part in the protest, seeking immediate transfer of the Collector.

“Mr. Vijayamohan is addressing the officials in a derogatory manner in review meetings. He is deliberately sending files back and dilly dallying decisions for month together to demoralise the officials,” District Joint Action Committee chairman V.Ch. Vengal Reddy alleged.

The employees also registered their protest against the way of functioning of the Collector. Mr. Vijayamohan gave recommendation letters of political leaders on VRO transfers to officials in a review meeting recently and transferred the part-time VROs flouting the rules, which was later quashed by the State Administrative Tribunal, Mr. Vengal Reddy said.

Citing another incident, he alleged that the Collector was taking up direct recruitment of anganwadi teachers, ignoring the 120 anganwadi workers who were eligible for promotion.

Further, the protester said, the Collector had informed the Government that there were no backlog posts in district, while 76 SC/ST backlog posts had already been notified.
