Fire breaks out at spinning mill in Andhra Pradesh’s Gollapalli village; cotton bales gutted

Fire broke out in Vantage Spinners Private Limited, located at Gollapalli village, Nuzvid mandal in Eluru district, in the early hours on April 4. However, no casualties were reported. Fire personnel were making efforts to put of flames at the spot.

According to the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department, fire broke out in the warehouse of the spinning mill around midnight and the fire control officials received phone call at 4.40 a.m.

“Fire tenders from Eluru, Nuzvid, Hanuman Junction and other stations rushed to the spot. More than 30 fire personnel were deputed to extinguish flames,” Fire Officer M. Srinivas Reddy said.

Cotton bales stored in the godown were destroyed. The reasons for the cause of fire is not known immediately, Mr. Reddy said.
