DS hints at quitting Cong.

TRS invites the senior Congress leader to party fold

July 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated April 01, 2016 10:59 am IST - HYDERABAD:

In a move that is bound to further weaken a demoralised Congress following the debacle in the Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections in May last year, senior Congress leader and former PCC president D. Srinivas has hinted at quitting the Congress party in protest against the “injustice” meted out to him by the high command.

Indications are that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leadership has invited him to join the party. The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders also are said to have urged him to join but he is believed to have turned down the offer. After the recent Legislative Council elections, Mr. Srinivas, a strong contender for the party ticket, has been a crestfallen man.
