Driver charred to death as lorry-van collide in A.P.

On National Highway near Dwaraka Tirumala in West Godavari a truck and van collided with one driver getting charred and three others injured.

Two vehicles coming from opposite directions collided head on Nation Highway-16 in wee hours of Monday and went up in flames near Buttaigudem hamlet of Dwaraka Tirumala mandal in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh.

According to Sub-Inspector of Police of Dwaraka Tirumala Ch. Satish Kumar a 10-tyre truck with tamarind load was coming from Kovvuru in the District and proceeding to Bheemadolu and an Eicher heavy van with blouse pieces load going to Visakhapatnam collided head on at Buttaiguem. In the impact of the collision diesel tanks of both the vehicles got blown up and went up in flames. The driver of the van got charred to death and two others who tried to jump from the van sustained burn injuries.

Mr. Satish said that they were trying to get details of the deceased and admitted the injured in Dwaraka Tirumala area hospital. He added that the 12-wheel truck driver and three more in the truck, who were from Kerala, also sustained minor injuries.
