Singarakonda, the abode of Prasannanjaneya Swamy and Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy, witnessed hectic religious activity as the 61st annual ‘Tirunallu’ festival concluded on the auspicious ‘Phalguna Shudda Pournima’ day on Wednesday.

Over one lakh devotees had darshan of Lord Hanuman on the special occasion as vedic priests led by V. Harishankar Avadhani, tastefully decorated the idol of Lord Vayuputra with tulsi, betal leaves and colourful flowers.

The special decoration to the Lord would be retained till Thursday morning for the benefit of devotees waiting in serpentine queues for darshan, said temple Executive Officer and Endowments Assistant Commissioner R. Ramanammma.

CC cameras were installed by the district police to monitor the movement of devotees.

The twin-temples were illuminated with “electric prabhas.” ‘Sundara Kandam’, Annamacharya keertanas, bhajans and devotional plays were organised on the occasion at the historic twin temples constructed in the 15th century by King Devarayalu. The endowments department organised community feasts on the occasion. Additional bus services were organised by the APSRTC.
