Mr. Rao and his son Hitesh called on YSR Congress president and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy here.

The YSRCP president along with senior leaders V. Vijay Sai Reddy and Y.V. Subba Reddy held discussions with Mr. Rao, co-brother of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, on the political situation in AP during the close to one hour meeting.

Mr. Rao, husband of former Union Minister D. Purandeswari who is presently in the manifesto committee of the BJP, told reporters later that Mr. Hitesh would work under the leadership of Mr. Jagan and the YSRCP president too had responded positively to their decision to join the party.

The decision came in the light of the committed work being done by Mr. Jagan in the interests of the people of A.P.
