CWC members visit minor girl at Anantapur GGH

Street Children’s Welfare and Child Welfare Joint Director Prasad Murthy conducted a surprise check on the Balasadan on Tuesday and asked the employees, members of NGOs to make all out efforts to provide the best possible protection to the children.

Expressing his satisfaction over the running of Balasadan, he asked them to ensure every child was reformed before going out.

Mr. Prasada Murthy also interacted with the inmates of Balasadan to understand the amenities and the way of functioning of the staff. Juvenile Home in-charges Yellappa and K. Rammohan Reddy were also present at the surprise check.

Meanwhile, the Child Welfare Committee members met the minor girl, who was beaten black and blue in K.P. Doddi village of Gummagatta mandal in Anantapur district and enquired with the Government General Hospital doctors on the progress of treatment for her and promised all help.

Anantapur Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Nallani Rajeswari said on Tuesday that she had assured the minor girl of all help to continue her studies and training for any vocational skills as she desired so that she gets employed somewhere. The CWC team promised all help to give her psychological counselling to be on her feet through financial empowerment. The girl showed interest in continuing her studies and agreed to the proposals of the CWC, she added.

Earlier, the team reviewed the adoptions at Balasadan and Sishugruha in the city and asked those running the Balasadan to enter the details of all children on the Central Adoption Resource Authority website www.cara.nic.in so that every orphan child gets a family.

The team members also named a child there at the Balasadan — Sri Lakshmi.
