Court seeks report on accident survivor

October 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A Division Bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising acting Chief Justice D.B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt on Monday expressed deep concern over the future of 10-year-old Sai Kiran, who is the only survivor in ghastly Dowleswaram road accident, and wanted a comprehensive report to be placed before the court by November 2.

The Bench was dealing with a taken up case based on a letter written by Geddam Atchutha Rao, an advocate of East Godavari district, on the road accident.

It may be recalled that on June 13 this year, 22 persons from one family were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in fell from the bridge at Dowleswaram. Sai Kiran is the sole survivor and he has only a grandfather to look after him.

Sum deposited

The court was told that a sum of Rs. 6.5 lakh was deposited in a joint account.

The Bench felt that something more comprehensive had to be done and asked advocate Veeraswamy to assist the court in this regard.
