Competitions in ‘vision document’ preparation

As part of involving more people in the preparation of the ‘Smart City Proposal,’ the Kakinada Municipal Corporation (KMC) will conduct essay writing competitions for students and citizens and competitions in the preparation of the vision document and logo with attractive prize money.

The city, which has been short-listed in the Top-100 cities for the Union government’s Smart City project, is now making efforts to find a place in the Top-20 list. Besides appointing New Delhi-based IIDC Limited as the consultancy to prepare the document, it is also planning a good number of programmes to involve citizens in the preparation of the comprehensive proposal.

“The prize money for essay writing for the students is Rs. 5,000 for the winner and Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 respectively for the runners-up. Students below 19 years of age can get their details registered on www.mygov.in,” said S. Aleem Basha, Commissioner of the Kakinada Municipal Corporation.

Similarly, the prizes for the open category essay writing competition will be Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 for those in the first three places. The prize money for the vision document and logo design will be Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000, respectively.
