Krishna District Collector A.Md. Imtiaz on Tuesday assured ex gratia of ₹5 lakh to the family of three brothers — Gujjarlanka Ganesh (10), Srimanthudu (8) and Gowtham (5) — who drowned in a local canal at Perakalapdu village of Kanchikacherla mandal in the district on August 28.

On Tuesday, Mr. Imtiaz and Nandigama MLA M. Jaganmohan consoled the family apart from offering necessary support from the State government.

The Collector and the MLA interacted with G. Ramu and Swarnalatha, parents of the siblings. The parents were in Karnataka when the incident had occurred and the siblings were under the care of their grandmother.

In an official release, Mr. Imtiaz has stated that a proposal recommending ₹5 ex gratia to the family has been sent to the State government and expected to be accepted soon. The Collector has also assured the housing facility for the family and directed the revenue officials to help the family.
