The residents of this village had a harrowing time on Saturday when the police laid seize to roads in view of the Chief Minster N. Chandrababu visit to attend a private function.

The Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd. (MEIL), which adopted the village as part of its CSR initiative, has built the Sri Bhu Sameta Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple here and the Mr. Naidu visited the temple here. MEIL MD P.V. Krishna Reddy took the Chief Minister, with a bunch of Ministers on his toe, around the temple. Meanwhile, police cordoned off entire village from 9 a.m. Heavy police presence was witnessed on the roads leading to the temple.

The police did not even allow the entry of the State Information Centre (SIC) vehicle near the temple.

The villagers had a harrowing time as the police did not allow entry or movement of vehicles 1 km away from the village.

The residents were seen exchanging heated arguments with the police personnel. But, the police did not budge. The villagers complained that fetching water also became a Herculean task.

“How do I go to my brother’s house? I am not interested in going to the temple. Let me go,” pleaded Vishnu Priya, a resident of Pamarru. “I have come here to attend a family function. They (police) are now asking me to come tomorrow,” she lamented.

Mahankal Rao, a petty vendor, was clueless about the restrictions.

“They (politicians) remember us during the elections and we become untouchables thereafter. I did no business today. How can they do like this?,” he asked.
