Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is conducting an aerial survey in the flood affected areas of Nellore and Chittoor districts.

Earlier, he directed the authorities to divert the rescue and relief teams in other teams to Nellore district and instructed the district administration to stay alert in the wake of heavy rains lashing the district and neighbouring areas.

In a teleconference with District Collectors from his residence here on Wednesday morning, Mr. Naidu said authorities could utilise railway tracks for transporting rescue teams and provisions to the affected areas in Nellore district.

He instructed the officials to take relief and rehabilitation works as per the directions issued by the disaster management department. All the rain water logged in agriculture fields should be diverted to water bodies and in case of excess logging, salt and paddy husk should be sprayed in the fields to help in water absorption, he directed the Agriculture Department.

Since November being the season for heavy rains and cyclones, all the district administrations should have advanced plan of action to mitigate losses arising due to calamities.
