Clash between two groups at Sarpavaram village

Clash over four cents of land at Sarabavaram village in Rolugunta mandal under Kothakota Police Station limits in the Agency area of Visakhapatnam District on Monday morning, left 11 injured, including one grievously.

About 20 people were involved in the clash at the village square, said Circle Inspector of Kothakota Police Station, H. Malleshwara Rao. While one group allegedly belonged to the president of the village, the other belonged to the MPTC.

Out of the 11 injured, eight were from the Schedule Castes and the others were non-SCs. The grievously injured person was shifted to King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam for treatment and is said to be out of danger. The others were admitted to the area hospital at Narsipatnam.

According to Inspector Malleshwara Rao, the police have posted a picket at the village to maintain law and order.
