Clarification

The infobox in the report 'State hospitals to offer free diagnostice services' (Nov. 21) mentioned that Rs. 130 crore would be paid to private agencies for maintenance of medical equipment in government hospitals.

In fact, this payment is an outer limit of expenditure, and will include, in addition to service charges paid to private agencies for offering a variety of diagnostic services, maintenance of medical equipment for government hospitals, exclusive 102 call centre for pregnant women and free cab service to mothers and newborns from hospital to home.
