City swimmer to take a plunge in Indianapolis pool

Teenage swimmer U.M. Lohith will represent India in the 6th world junior swimming championship at Indianapolis from August 21 to 29.

The sixteen-year-old swimmer will take part in the 200-meter breaststroke. Presently, he is clocking 2 minutes and 26 seconds. To win a medal at the U.S.A meet he needs to clock 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Young Lohith began his career by enrolling in the annual summer camp at Sir Vizzi Municipal Swimming Pool at Gandhinagar in 2013. Later, he started his systemic coaching from Mr. Malyadri and began winning medals for Andhra Pradesh in the junior meets.
