: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday informed the Kerala High Court that there was no ground to register a crime in connection with the allegations of corruption in the conduct of the 35th National Games.

In an affidavit, the CBI said on preliminary verification, no role of any government public servant had come to light in the conduct or hosting of the Games.

The affidavit was filed in response to a writ petition by Sivankutty, MLA, seeking a CBI probe.

The CBI pointed out that it was revealed that the allegations of corruption levelled by the MLA were found to be incorrect.

It said the contract for the construction of synthetic athletic tracks was awarded after observing all the tender formalities. It also pointed out that the procurement of sports equipment costing Rs. 32.56 crore were made through tenders.

The CBI also found untrue the allegations that outdated equipment imported from Germany were used to construct the synthetic tracks in the respective stadiums
