June 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - HYDERABAD:

State Cabinet on Tuesday approved special policies for development of civil aviation and aerospace, food processing and private industrial parks here on Tuesday.

Though no official briefing was done by Information and Public Relations Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy about policy decisions in view of the model code of conduct which came into force with the notification of MLC elections, it was learnt that the Cabinet approved three policies which were under the works for some time.

The draft policy of Aerospace and defence was uploaded on the government website some time back to get the feed back and it was adopted in the Cabinet meeting. The policy outlined incentives to be given for development of airports in public private partnership mode, aviation infrastructure, aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities, aerospace and development of defence sector PSUs, allotment of land and incentives to such units, official sources said.

The policy for industrial parks would focus on encouraging private sector players to set up industrial parks by extending special incentives, sources said. A decision was also taken to revive jute, sugar, spinning mills, ferro alloys units.

Under the Food processing policy, mega and integrated food parks would be set up.
