By-poll result a verdict on UDF rule, says Chandy

June 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:59 am IST - KOTTAYAM:

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy appears to have set the UDF agenda for Aruvikkara by-poll making it clear that the results will be a judgment of the four-year functioning of the government led by him.

He told mediapersons on the sidelines of a public function here that his government had been moving ahead with the agenda of development. Mr. Chandy said he had no doubt about the outcome of the by-election as the UDF would come up victorious. Those who believed in democracy would ensure that UDF candidate K.S. Sabarinath won hands down at Aruvikkara. He said there was nothing worrying about the dissent expressed by the Kerala Students Union (KSU). “They will be in the forefront to campaign for Mr. Sabarinath,” he said.
