Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana is said to be furious at the attempts by the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials to fix him in the liquor scandal at the behest of some key functionaries in the government.

Mr. Satyanarayana, who is in New Delhi to meet the party's central leadership, is planning to take up the issue with the party seniors and complain about deliberate attempts being made to malign his image.

The PCC chief is apparently upset at the latest turn of events where in an Inspector of Police in ACB, Vizianagaram, sent a legal notice to his boss alleging that the latter allegedly wanted him to name Mr. Botcha Satyanarayana and his family members in the liquor trade.

The PCC chief during course of interaction with the AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad and party president's political secretary Ahmed Patel to discuss the party candidates for the 18 Assembly seats complained about certain senior leaders.

Sources said that Mr. Satyanarayana was upset at aides of the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who were trying their best to besmirch his image

Mr. Satyanarayana's supporters reportedly sent the copies of legal notices to all the Ministers in the Cabinet. It is understood that over a dozen Ministers telephoned Mr. Satyanarayana and enquired about the developments.

His aides maintain that while as many as 36 Opposition party MLAs were involved in liquor business, the government chose to ignore them and target only Mr. Satyanarayana and his family members.

Sources in the Chief Minister's camp said Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy was no way involved in the episode.
