BJP, Hindu body vow to scuttle the festival

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Bharatiya Janata Party legislator T. Raja Singh have stated that they won’t allow the beef festival, planned by some student organisations on the campus of Osmania University here on December 10, to take place come what may.

Chethan Janardhan of HJS and BJP legislator from Goshamahal in Hyderabad Mr. Raja Singh submitted separate memorandums to Principal Secretary of Higher Education Ranjeev R. Acharya, who is also holding additional charge as the in-charge Vice-Chancellor of OU here on Monday requesting her not to permit beef festival and take action against organisations planning to spoil the environment on the university campus there by planning such events.

Giving a new spin to the event, they alleged that the organisations backed by Left parties, Congress and MIM were planning to conduct the beef festival were eyeing political gains, particularly ahead of elections to GHMC.
