Statistical and video surveillance, flying squad and nodal officers and MCC and MCMC members should be vigilant in enforcing the model code of conduct for the MLC elections, Election Observer T.G. Venkatesh and District Collector and Election Officer Ch. Vijayamohan told officials on Monday.
The statistical surveillance team should keep track of the expenditure of contestants and instances of distribution of money and promptly submit reports, they said at a meeting on computing election expenditure.
Mr. Venkatesh told the team members to secure data from all the banks on withdrawal of major amounts by the contestants, political parties and others.
He directed District Cooperative Officer to include Lead District Manager in the Election Expenditure Monitoring Team.
The surveillance teams could complain to him on 09440547788 on any violations, Mr. Venkatesh said.
