Balakrishna optimistic about SCS

Telugu Desam MLA and film actor N. Balakrishna on Sunday expressed the confidence that the Centre would respond positively in granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to reporters after participating in a ‘Breast cancer awareness walk’ from KBR Park to Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital, he said the Centre was sanctioning projects, institutions and financial aids in a phased manner keeping AP government’s vision in view.

He said Telugus' self-respect would be hurt if special status was not given.

Mr. Balakrishna, who is also the chairman of Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, gave an overview about the steps taken to spread awareness on breast cancer. Film actor Anjali, badminton player Sindhu and badminton coach P. gopichand took part in the walk.
