ASI attacked in broad daylight

An Assistant Sub-Inspector was severely injured after he was attacked by a rowdy-sheeter in Guntakal town on Wednesday afternoon. Mahender, who works at the Uravakonda rural police station, was attacked by one Ramanjaneyulu with a dagger. Mahender was having lunch at his home on Gooty road in Guntakal town when he was attacked.

Guntakal police said Mahendra, who had earlier worked as ASI at Guntakal II town station, had opened a rowdy sheet against Ramanjaneyulu in view of his violent past.

Meanwhile, Mahendra was admitted to the Government General Hospital at Guntakal and is currently out of danger, according to doctors. Police arrested Ramanjaneyulu and registered a case.
