The first batch of 34 farmers was received at Singapore by the government officials of that country on Tuesday.
A detailed itinerary has been worked out in coordination with various agencies in Singapore, to help the farmers understand the development of Singapore over the past 40 years, and how the planned development has been of great benefit to the citizens and its economy.
Amaravati was closely following the Singapore expertise for its development and aimed to grow to the same standards and the farmers would be partners and beneficiaries in the process, according to a release.
The farmers visited the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), the Centre for Livable Cities (CLC) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). While the MTI gave the farmers an overview of the economic development of Singapore, CLC apprised them of the best practices in urban development. The BCA provided the farmers with an understanding of various building projects and the latest techniques that the farmers can adopt in Amaravati.
