Serpentine queues were witnessed on the first day of engineering counselling as anxious students and parents thronged the counselling centres to get the certificates verified, here on Friday.
The session began smoothly at two centres – S.V. Arts College and S.V. Government Polytechnic, which were earmarked for engineering counselling for the ranks between 1 – 15,000.
Officials made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the certificate verification process in three stages. First, the students were allowed into the hall and seated based on their ranks, followed by certificate verification by officers. The certificates of the students from SC/ST and BC were also verified.
The entire process concluded by payment of fees. Officials reported that almost 50 per cent of the session was completed by 12.30 p.m.
