Vijayawada Sub-Collector G.S.S. Praveen Chand has asked the officials concerned to install CCTV cameras in the maternity and children's ward of the old Government General Hospital (GGH).

Mr. Praveen Chand made a surprise visit to the maternity ward and inspected the facilities. He spoke to the patients and inquired about the services being provided, according to a release.

Mr. Praveen Chand said that the number of people availing of the services at the GGH has been gradually increasing due to improvement of services and facilities.

“As more cases of theft of babies from hospitals are being reported, the staff at maternity and children’s wards must be careful,” he said and asked the hospital officials to install CCTV cameras in the wards.
