Andhra Pradesh govt. will fill 6,100 teaching posts in three months, says Education Minister

The notifications for Teacher Eligibility Test and District Selection Committee -2024 exams will be released on February 8 and 12 respectively, says Botcha Satyanarayana

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Botcha Satyanarayana has announced that the government will release the notifications for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and District Selection Committee (DSC)-2024 for filling 6,100 teacher posts.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat on February 7 (Wednesday), Mr. Satyanarayana said that the notification for TET would be released on February 8 and DSC on February 12. 

Of the total 6,100 posts, 2,280 are for Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs), 2,299 for School Assistants (SAs), 1,264 for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), 215 for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) and 42 posts for Principals.

The government will set up examination centres in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Berhampur, apart from across Andhra Pradesh. The Minister said that the YSRCP government had filled 14,219 teacher posts so far. 

He said recruitments would be taken up for a total of 6,100 teacher posts through DSC in schools belonging to seven different managements including Zilla Parishad/Mandal Parishad/ Municipality and Municipal Corporation, A.P. Model Schools, A.P. Residential Educational Institutions’ Society, A.P. Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions’ Society (Gurukul), A.P. Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions’ Society (Asram), A.P. Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions’ Society and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Backward Class Welfare Society. 

Payment of fee through payment gateway for TET can be done from February 8 to 17 and for DSC, from February 12 to 21, online submission of application through http://cse.ap.gov.in for TET can be done from February 8 to February 18 and for DSC, from February 12 to February 22.

Mock tests

Online mock test for TET will be made available on February 19, while for DSC, it will be on February 24. Candidates writing TET can download their hall tickets from February 23 and those writing DSC, can do it from March 5, 2024.

The TET exams would be held from February 27 to March 9, 2024 (both sessions on all days), while DSC exams would be held from March 15 to March 30, 2024 (both sessions on all days).

The initial key for TET will be released on March 10 and for DSC, it will be released on March 31, objections on initial key from TET candidates would be accepted on March 11 and from DSC candidates, it will be on April 1, 2024. Release of the final key for TET will be on March 13 and for DSC, it will be on April 2 and the final results of TET will be declared on March 14, while the final results of the DSC candidates would be announced on April 7, 2024, the Minister said.

Principal Secretary, School Education, Praveen Prakash, Commissioner for School Education S. Suresh Kumar, Commissioner for Higher Education P. Bhaskar, Joint Directors and others were present.
