Two expert teams from Andhra Pradesh will visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the South Block and National Museum in Delhi, and the Government Museum at Chennai in the coming days to throw fresh light on the archaeological, historical and cultural facets of the State and then come up with recommendations on aspects to be incorporated in Amaravati master plans.
Foster + Partners (F&P) will soon submit three options, and one of them will be given for further development after giving it the native touch, which will not be essentially a total replication of old designs, said Government Adviser (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar.
Addressing mediapersons at the CRDA office here, along with experts who shared their expertise in the two-day meeting on Culture and History in Designing Amaravati, on Thursday, Mr. Prabhakar said F&P was working on the best of designs, which would duly reflect the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Naming aspect
Detailed discussions were held on what names to be given to townships, buildings, roads and entry-points, and whether to derive them (the names) from rivers, mountains, kings who ruled the region or others, the kind of sculptures that would give an aesthetic appeal to the constructions and the different architecture styles but no decisions were taken. However, it has been decided to retain the nomenclature of the 29 villages where lands were pooled for construction of the capital city.
Mr. Prabhakar said the existing proposals and improvisations thereof would be finalised at a meeting to be held on March 11 and 12 and given for development by F&P. The experts would duly take into account valuable information available within A.P.
