As e-office system being implemented by the ten departments yielded fruitful results, the Krishna district authorities have decided to expand the innovative scheme to cover the entire administration. Krishna Collector Babu.A on Monday told The Hindu that all the remaining departments would switch over to the e-office system within a week.
He said there were no technical glitches or obstacles to implement the e-office system to share and transfer files among the respective receivers – Collector and other higher officials. He received a good response from the staff of various sections at the Collectorate over the benefits and functioning of the e-office system during his interaction with the staff.
Special teams deployed to digitise nearly five crore government documents and records were asked to complete the digitisation process of files pertaining to ‘current administration’ on a war footing basis. Earlier, Mr. Babu made it clear that the e-office system would require current files to be digitised to run the administration. However, necessary records dated back to 18th century to till date would also be made available in the system, enabling the operator to refer those documents and direct access to digital archive.
