Alert train driver averts mishap

An alert driver of the Puri-Tirupati express averted a mishap by stopping the train at Singarayakonda in Prakasam district on Tuesday after noticing a defect on the track.

The driver noticed that Centre Buffer Coupler got separated and immediately informed the local station master. Pointsman and other staff rushed to the spot and set it right.

As a result, the train was delayed by 30 minutes, Singarayakonda Railway Station Master N. Bhushanam said. RPF and GRP wings rushed to the spot and began a probe into the incident.
