AIADMK team meets workers injured in firing

A delegation from the AIADMK's Puducherry unit headed by its four MLAs visited the Government General Hospital here on Saturday and comforted nine workers of Regency Ceramics Limited, who were injured in police firing on the factory premises at Yanam on Friday last.

On behalf of their party president and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, the MLAs handed over fruits and Rs. 5,000 cash each to the injured.

Holding Yanam MLA Malladi Krishna Rao responsible for the entire incident, AIADMK floor leader in the Puducherry Legislative Assembly, A. Anbalagan, demanded that the Puducherry government take the initiative to reopen the factory immediately.

MLAs Om Shakti Sekhar, P. Purushottaman and L. Periya Samy, besides 11 leaders of the AIADMK, formed part of the delegation.
