The two-day ‘Jai Kisan’ training school programme by Zuari Agricultural Development Laboratory (Adventz group) began here on Tuesday, in which farmers from Guntur and Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh), Nagarkurnool and Ranga Reddy (Telangana) districts attended. P. Rajasekhar, Associate Director of Research at the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), called gaining knowledge a continuous process and advised the farmers to keep abreast of the developments in the field of agriculture. “New skills should be acquired in order to make agriculture a more profitable profession,” he said. K.K. Singh, General Manager (Agri Service), Adventz Group, called upon the farmers to use the training programme to minimise their monocropping risk by learning about new crops that suit their area and are more remunerative than the traditional ones. He also appealed to the farmers to understand their soil by way of regular testing and taking up soil test-based nutrient application. B. Sudhanand, Chief Manager (Agri advisory services) of Zuari lab, appealed to the farmers to disseminate the skills acquired at this training programme to fellow farmers
