A day after targeting the passengers of Padmavati Express, robbers struck at the Chennai-bound Circar Express near Ulavapadu in Prakasam district around 1 a.m. on Sunday and decamped with gold ornaments from passengers.

Railway police here said robbers decamped with about 80 gm gold jewellery from passengers travelling by S4, S5 and S6 coaches on board the train from Kakinada and escaped under the cover of darkness after pulling the alarm chain. The robbers also made a futile bid to rob the passengers of the Thiruvananthapuram-bound Ahilyanagar Express from Indore on Saturday evening as alert passengers raised an alarm.
