The Tirumala police on Tuesday launched an investigation after they found a body in the small pond at Akkagarla gudi situated in front of the Vaikuntam Queue Complex under the limits of Narayanagiri gardens.

The police found no marks of external injuries on the body. A few phone numbers noted down on a scrap paper and a train ticket recovered from his pockets helped the police in establishing his identity as K. Vinay Kumar (29) , son of Papaiah, native of Raghunath Nagar, Amberpet in Hyderabad. The deceased who also had his head tonsured is believed to have boarded the train at Kacheguda in Hyderabad and reached the town on February 3.
