AP to pay Rs 1 lakh to families of those killed in cracker explosion

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced an ex—gratia payment of Rs one lakh each to the families of those killed in an explosion at a cracker godown at Pallipattu in neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

24 persons from Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh bordering Tamil Nadu were among those killed in the explosion on Friday.

Chief Minister K Rosaiah expressed shock over the tragedy and announced an ex—gratia payment of Rs one lakh each to the kin of those killed hailing from the state, official sources said.
